The Rump Run is a rain or shine, family-friendly timed 5K and 1-mile fun walk on a paved course through Enterprise South Nature Park.
Survivor Recognition 8:50 am
Timed 5K: Wave 1- 9:00 am, Wave 2- 9:05 am
Fun Walk: 9:05 am with Wave 2
Awards Ceremony: 10:05 am
As an extra precaution against COVID, the Rump Run will consist of two waves, 5-minutes apart, giving runners & walkers more room to socially distance. Walkers will join Wave 2, and are asked to stay to the right of the course, allowing runners to pass safely as they head to the finish line.
Masks will be required inside the Visitor's Center as we want to be extra respectful regarding the compromised immune systems of many participants.
Parking & Directions to the Park: There is on-going TDOT construction along Volkswagen Drive. What was a roundabout outside the park entrance is now a 4-way intersection. There are many construction vehicles, cones, and blocked areas around Volkswagen Drive.
Parking in the Volkswagen Employee & Volkswagen Academy (VW entrance 1) begins at row 22 as Volkswagen has their own event race day and needs the front half of the lot for their employees. As you enter the parking lot you will see Rump Run signage to turn left towards our designated spaces.
Aisle 22 is designated for Survivors
Aisle 23 is designated for those needing Handicapped Parking
Aisle 24 is designated for Volunteers
Aisle 25 and higher for all participants,but you will be directed by parking attendants.
The lot is 0.3 miles from Enterprise South Nature Park and we have multiple shuttle/buses running from the VW lot to the event and back. Additionally, many of the sidewalks are currently closed due to the construction and may be ripped up before race day. If you've joined us before, and are familiar with the sidewalks and path that leads to the park, we ask that you please plan to use the shuttle. TDOT has asked us to reiterate that the entire area is an active construction zone and to use our shuttles. Please do not walk along Volkswagen Drive, the sidewalks, or walk across the street to the path.
Directions to parking:
From I-75 take exit 9 to Volkswagen Drive. At the intersection you will see the park on your right. Make a LEFT TURN at the light and proceed to the first roundabout, entering the Volkswagen lot at Employee Lot 1 & VW Academy. Once you are in the lot, turn left at the stop sign for Rump Run parking.
From Bonny Oaks, take Volkswagen Drive to the second roundabout. Enter the Employee Lot 1 & VW Academy. Once you are in the lot, turn left at the stop sign for Rump Run parking.
Please do not park in any other lots around Volkswagen or Erlanger.
Pre-Race Packet Pick Up:
Individuals and teams can pick-up on Friday, March 25, Enterprise South Nature Park Visitor's Center from 4:00pm - 7:00pm (closing at 7 pm sharp as the Rangers need to close the park and they are short staffed!) or on race day from 7:30 - 8:45 am. If you registered after the February 15 deadline to guarantee yourself a shirt, you are invited to return to the Visitor's Center after the race to see what sizes we have available. Additionally, we cannot swap shirt sizes until after the race.
